YouTube is a vast platform.
There are millions of people watching millions of videos every single day.
And the majority of these are ‘amateur’ videos, meaning they’re uploaded by members of the public, not professional filmmakers.
A survey found that more than 40% of videos on YouTube had never been viewed.
That’s a lot of wasted effort!
The challenge for anyone uploading a video is ensuring it gets seen and improving views.
And the most important thing is improving your video quality, and here comes the critical role of the camera.
As a YouTuber, I have some of my favorite cameras that don’t break the bank but still offer high-end features.
Which is the Best Budget Camera for YouTube?
Here are my recommended top 10 Best Budget Camera for YouTube:-
Canon Rebel T7i: Tried and True
I’m a filmmaker, and I’ve always been fascinated by crime.
So when a famous YouTube channel assigned me to make a documentary about people who have been killed, it was like a dream come true.
I’d already been thinking about making a documentary about people who had committed crimes and were still walking around free, but I never thought I’d get the chance to do it.
I spent hours thinking through the questions, but then I remembered something: filmmaking is about finding interesting people and telling their stories.
And this is a fantastic story!
People who have killed others are just as fascinating as any other subject, so why not tell it?
Nothing could be better than telling it through my Canon EOS T7i.
Features:
- Model: Canon EOS T7i
- Effective Megapixel: 24.2 MP
- Image sensor type: APS-C CMOS Sensor
- ISO range: 100 – 25600
- Shutter speeds: 1/4000
- Storage Compatibility: SD, SDHC, SDXC Memory
- Viewfinder: Optical Viewfinder
- Image stabilizer: Not Available
- Dimension: 131.0 x 99.9 x 76.2mm
- Weight: 532g
ISO/Shutter Speed:
The first part of the documentary was about a man who had been wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison.
After the murder occurred, he claimed that he had been at home sleeping when it happened, but during his trial, there was no solid evidence to prove where he was at the time of the murder.
To capture footage that would show, I had to shoot on location at night with low light levels and use high ISO values of 25600 at 1/4000 shutter speed.
Aperture/Field of View:
I was shooting at night and wanted to use the F/6.0 aperture for maximum flexibility with my lighting setup.
The T7i has a great autofocus system that allows me to focus on whatever I want and then get out of the way while it keeps focusing on that same object as I move around my scene.
This is crucial when shooting a documentary where people constantly move around.
White Balance/Frame Rate:
I was shooting in a dark alleyway in Los Angeles, and I needed to capture an accurate representation of what I was seeing.
My T7i’s 60 fps allowed me to capture everything going on to show you exactly how it felt to be there.
The camera also features a custom white balance setting, which helped me ensure that the footage looked true to life even in low light.
Why is this camera the best?
A DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) camera can capture high-quality images in various conditions.
This makes it ideal for YouTubers who want to shoot videos on the go or take their video quality to the next level.
It also offers an auto-focus system that lets you capture crystal-clear footage without worrying about focus issues.
This can be especially helpful if you’re trying to get close-up shots of objects or people without any depth-of-field issues getting in your way.
Conclusion:
This tried and tested camera features an internal microphone with built-in stereo recording capabilities to capture high-quality audio without buying additional equipment.

Sony ZV-1: (Best Budget Camera for YouTube)
I was at the zoo when I heard a dull roar.
I looked around and saw two cubs fighting over a piece of bread.
They were so adorable, but they were growling at each other!
The cubs were so young, yet they were already trying to make their mark on the world.
I was there with Sony ZV-1 to film the cubs for the Wildlife YouTube channel.
Their mother watched from a distance but didn’t seem concerned or worried about what her children were doing.
She just sat there with her head resting on her paw as she watched them play fight with each other.
I think it’s important for people to see animals behaving naturally like this because it can show us what it means to live in harmony with nature instead of being destructive towards animals by hunting them down for sport or food purposes only.
Features:
- Model: Sony ZV-1
- Effective Megapixel: 20.1 MP
- Image sensor type: Exmor RS BSI CMOS Sensor
- ISO range: 125 – 12800
- Shutter speeds: 1/2000
- Storage Compatibility: SD, SDHC, SDXC Memory
- Viewfinder: Pop-up Viewfinder
- Image stabilizer: Advanced Stabilization
- Dimension: 105 x 60 x 44mm
- Weight: 294g
ISO/Shutter Speed:
The day started pretty well; the cubs were active and playful, but around noon, things got a bit more challenging when they began to nap together in the shade of a large tree.
I had to wait patiently until they woke up again before shooting more footage of them playing with each other!
They were adorable, and I wanted to capture them as best as possible.
I decided to use an ISO range of 125 – 12800, and a 1/2000 shutter speed would help me get striking shots in all lighting conditions.
Aperture/Field of View:
The aperture was set at f/1.8, and I focused on the baby lions using manual focusing.
The owners of the zoo wanted me to shoot these cubs with natural lighting so that I could seize their true beauty.
I positioned myself carefully to get maximum light on them without any shadows or distractions in the background.
They were e playing with each other, and it was adjustable.
White Balance/Frame Rate:
I decided to try some different shots, like close-ups of their faces and paws, and then I went outside, where there were a few trees around for them to climb.
They were so cute when they climbed up on those trees!
It made me think about how much fun I would have as a child if there were things for me to climb up on in my yard; maybe someday I can get one for myself!
My camera seized every footage with vivid details at the speed frame of 24 fps.
Why is this camera the best?
The ZV-1 is a new, compact, easy-to-use camera that shoots in 4K.
It’s perfect for those who want to start a YouTube channel but don’t have much money to invest in equipment or are looking for an upgrade from your current camera but don’t want to break the bank.
It features a 13.2mm sensor size that gives it an edge over other compact cameras in its price range, typically using smaller sensors.
The result is higher image quality and better low-light performance than expected from this camera class.
Conclusion:
It’s got a flip screen that’s great for vlogging, and it’s water-resistant, so you can take it on the go without worrying about ruining your equipment.
It’s the best budget camera for YouTube.

Panasonic Lumix G7: If you want to go mirrorless
I was hired to shoot a grand birthday event for a famous YouTuber for his channel.
He was a popular YouTuber, and he had many fans.
He has been making videos on YouTube since 2014, and people loved him.
I went there with my Panasonic Lumix G7, ready to shoot the event.
There were many people around him when I arrived at the venue.
It seemed like more than 500 people were attending the event.
There was also a cake in front of him and flowers and balloons everywhere.
Everyone was taking photos with him or staring at him from afar, trying to get his attention by waving hands or shouting, “Happy Birthday!”
Features:
- Model: Panasonic Lumix G7
- Effective Megapixel: 16 MP
- Image sensor type: Live CMOS Sensor
- ISO range: 125 – 12800
- Shutter speeds: 1/4000
- Storage Compatibility: SD, SDHC, SDXC Memory
- Viewfinder: Electronic Viewfinder
- Image stabilizer: Not Available
- Dimension: 124.9 x 86.2 x 77.4mm
- Weight: 415g
ISO/Shutter Speed:
The event was a grand affair, with a live band, a cake-cutting ceremony, and speeches from close friends and family members about how much of an impact he has had on their lives.
I shot at speeds up to 1/4000 of a second, capturing some truly stunning shots of the fireworks display after dinner.
I also used this camera’s high ISO capabilities of 12800 to capture some stellar footage during the speeches portion of the evening.
Aperture/Field of View:
I had a great view of everything happening, and everyone in the crowd seemed to be having a great time.
The lighting was good, and there were lots of bright colors everywhere.
The camera handled all this without any problems; the f/3.5 aperture made sure that everything in focus looked sharp and crisp, even when things were moving fast in front of me.
White Balance/Frame Rate:
The room has many recessed lights behind frosted glass panels, so they don’t create any glare on subjects’ faces when lit with flash photography.
A shooting speed of 40 fps and custom white balance made it easy for me to get good shots without worrying about adjusting my settings or having someone constantly change their expression, so they don’t look like they have a double chin from being photographed from too close up!
Why is this camera the best?
It is one of the best cameras on the market, but it’s also affordable enough that you don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to get great results.
It also provides a flip screen, which makes it easier to film yourself while still being able to see what’s going on in front of your lens.
This is especially helpful when you want to record yourself doing something like cooking or drawing, as it means you don’t have to look away from the camera and risk missing out on any crucial moments.
Conclusion:
The electronic viewfinder can also be used when shooting in low light situations so that users can still see what they’re doing even if there isn’t enough natural light available for them otherwise.
It’s the best option if you want to go mirrorless.

Canon EOS 70D: (Best Budget Camera for YouTube)
The most recent video I shot was one of my favorites: I filmed my grandmother cooking lasagna!
It wasn’t just any lasagna, though; it was her recipe.
I’ve known about this recipe for as long as I can remember, but I didn’t know if it would be good.
I was excited when she asked if I wanted to film her making it!
So we made a day out of it and went to her house with Canon EOS 70D.
She made a marinara sauce from scratch using fresh tomatoes and spices.
Then she layered the lasagna noodles with ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, and meat sauce before baking them at 350 degrees Fahrenheit until golden brown.
Features:
- Model: Canon EOS 70D
- Effective Megapixel: 20.2 MP
- Image sensor type: APS-C CMOS Sensor
- ISO range: 100 – 25600
- Shutter speeds: 1/8000
- Storage Compatibility: SD, SDHC, SDXC Memory
- Viewfinder: Eye-Level Pentaprism Viewfinder
- Image stabilizer: Not Available
- Dimension: 139 x 104 x 79mm
- Weight: 755g
ISO/Shutter Speed:
I put together a list of ingredients and went shopping.
Then, my grandma started cooking!
One of the biggest challenges in making the lasagna came when it was time to get some shots of how it looked before going into the oven.
The lighting in her kitchen wasn’t perfect for taking pictures, and if you know anything about taking food photos, you know that you need good lighting.
I decided to try out the ISO range from 100 – 25600 and 1/8000 shutter speed, which helped me get some beautiful footage that popped up.
Aperture/Field of View:
It was about capturing emotions and telling stories.
And when you’re trying to tell a story about something as intimate as your grandmother’s lasagna recipe, it’s not enough to have a good camera; you must capture your grandmother’s joy and love for cooking in every shot.
That’s why I decided to use an F/2.8 aperture that gets me crisp shots with beautiful depth of field while still letting me capture all those subtle nuances that make up a fantastic photo essay like this one!
White Balance/Frame Rate:
She told me she made lasagna with love and care, but I never believed her until she showed me how she did it: she’d walk around the kitchen at breakneck speed, stirring, chopping, and stirring some more.
I didn’t want to miss a single second of this process.
The auto-white balance function let me capture every detail of her movements without missing a beat.
In fact, because of its 60 fps capability, I got even more footage than I could have imagined!
Why is this camera the best?
It has an intuitive design makes it easy to use, even if you’ve never operated a camera.
But it also has all the bells and whistles you need as a professional video creator; you can film in Full HD resolution, which is incredibly impressive, and there are some great options for controlling lighting and sound quality.
Plus, because it records in RAW format, it’s easier for artists who want to process their footage into something beautiful after filming than those who shoot in JPEG format; it gives them more freedom with editing!
Conclusion:
If you’re starting as a YouTuber, this camera is an ideal first step into video production.
It’s simple enough for new users but powerful enough for advanced users, the perfect combination!

GoPro HERO7: When portability takes priority
I was sitting in my room, browsing the internet for inspiration for my next travel vlog.
I had just returned from my last trip and was looking for something new and exciting to do.
I read about a new island that had just opened to tourism and decided to check it out!
I took a plane, brought my GoPro Hero 7, and headed to Bali.
It’s a small island with beautiful beaches, great weather, and friendly people.
I stayed at a beach resort right on the beach of Kuta Bay.
The resort was right next to a volcano that erupted every few years, but luckily, it wasn’t bursting while I was there!
My favorite thing about this trip was hanging out with locals who showed me around their city.
They took me to their favorite temples and food markets, where we got these fantastic fruit smoothies that made my mouth water just thinking about them!
Features:
- Model: GoPro Hero 7
- Effective Megapixel: 12 MP
- Image sensor type: 1-Chip CMOS Sensor
- ISO range: 100 – 6400
- Shutter speeds: 1/240
- Storage Compatibility: Micro SD, SDHC, SDXC Memory
- Viewfinder: Touchscreen Viewfinder
- Image stabilizer: HyperSmooth Video Stabilization
- Dimension: 62 × 45 x 33mm
- Weight: 116g
ISO/Shutter Speed:
One such instance was when I was shooting in Bali.
I knew I wanted to get great shots of the sunset over the water and mountains while capturing some beautiful people watching on a beach.
However, it was very windy, and there was little light.
I decided to go with 100 ISO and 1/240 shutter speed.
This got me to take shots in low light conditions without having any motion blur from movement during the exposure time.
Aperture/Field of View:
It was easy to use and just as easy to create a fantastic video with!
The camera had an F/2.80 aperture, making the colors pop and look bright when it was sunny outside.
It also had a wide-angle lens, so you could get great shots in tight spaces like indoors or small streets around town where there weren’t many places to stand still and take pictures without getting in someone’s way!
This helped me ensure that my viewers saw everything they needed without having any parts cut out of their favorite clips.
White Balance/Frame Rate:
When I think of Bali, I think of lush greenery and waterfalls, colorful temples and markets, and the most delicious food on earth.
When I visited Bali, I wanted to capture these things in the video so my followers could feel like they were there with me.
I used the 4K video at 60 fps to get the best footage possible.
The authentic colors set made sure everything looked like it does in real life, not too saturated or too dark.
Now, when people watch my videos about Bali, they experience it alongside me!
Why is this camera the best?
It is the way to go if you’re looking for a camera that can capture high-quality images while still being affordable.
It has a slew of features make it ideal for any video, whether you’re shooting vlogs or action shots.
One of the best things about this camera is that it comes with a touch display, so you don’t have to use an external monitor and can control your settings on the device.
You can even change the resolution and frame rate while recording, which makes this a great option if you want more control over your videos and have time to play around with different settings before capturing them.
Conclusion:
Another reason why this camera is such a good fit for vloggers is because it has built-in stabilization software that lets them create smooth footage without having to pay extra for gimbals.
When it probably takes priority, this camera aces the game.

The Logitech C922: Super cost-effective
This is how I started streaming Devil May Cry 5 for my YouTube channel.
I have The Logitech C922 whenever it comes to streaming games.
I’ve been playing video games since I was a kid, and I’ve always been into gaming.
As a teenager, my parents bought me a Nintendo 64 and some games, including Super Mario 64 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (one of my favorites).
As time passed, I kept playing video games and started making videos about them on YouTube.
My favorite game series is Devil May Cry, so when DMC5 came out last year, it was an obvious choice for me to stream the game on my channel.

He’s an expert demon hunter with a penchant for heavy metal and an arsenal of weapons that would make most people faint from excitement.
This camera streams high-quality video at high ISO settings with a shutter speed of up to 1/30 second, which is perfect for capturing gameplay in low-light environments or during night scenes.
Aperture/Field of View:
I was looking for something that would help me capture the most precise moments, but I didn’t want to spend too much money on something that might not be worth it. The C922 was just what I needed.
It has a wide F/2.8 aperture, which means it can capture more light than other cameras of its size, so even when you’re in a dimly lit room or playing at night, you can still get crisp shots without using any extra lighting equipment!
White Balance/Frame Rate:
It meets all of my criteria: it is lightweight enough that it doesn’t interfere with my gameplay, it has clear audio quality so viewers can hear me clearly without getting distracted by background noise or static interference, and most importantly, it records high-resolution moments at 60 fps that makes me look good even when I am not playing well!

Canon EOS M100: (Best Budget Camera for YouTube)
It was a cold, windy November day when I decided to shoot an old abandoned building for my YouTube channel.
It was the kind of day you just wanted to stay inside, but I knew it would never happen if I didn’t get this video out there.
I packed up my Canon EOS M100 and headed out into the world.
The sun was shining brightly on the snow-covered ground.
It looked like it had once been an old farmhouse, a beautiful white clapboard house with big windows and a wrap-around porch.
But now it was mostly falling apart; many of the windows were broken or missing entirely, and there were holes in some of its walls where you could see through them into other rooms inside.
Features:
- Model: Canon EOS M100
- Effective Megapixel: 24.2 MP
- Image sensor type: APS-C CMOS Sensor
- ISO range: 100 – 25600
- Shutter speeds: 1/4000
- Storage Compatibility: SD, SDHC, SDXC Memory
- Viewfinder: Not Available
- Image stabilizer: Three-axis image Stabilization
- Dimension: 108.2 x 67.1 x 35.1mm
- Weight: 302g
ISO/Shutter Speed:
It’s a beautiful, old building that has been abandoned for years, but it’s still full of life and color, so much so that it feels like you’re stepping back in time when you see through it.
The first trick that helped me do this was using 100 – 25600 and 1/4000 shutter speed values on the camera.
This allowed me to capture footage without worrying about losing any light or having blurry photos due to the camera shaking from pressing down too hard on the shutter button.
Aperture/Field of View:
The light was coming in through the windows and illuminating the rooms in a very soft, airy way.
But there were some spots where the light wasn’t quite right between trees outside the windows or parts of the room that were in shadow.
And I wanted to keep all of those areas out of focus.
So I turned on the F/1.8 aperture setting, and it was perfect!
The aperture setting made everything so rich in detail.
White Balance/Frame Rate:
The first thing I wanted to do was show off the camera’s 60 fps capabilities.
I set the camera on a tripod and took some smooth shots of the house; the fluidity of motion made for a very cinematic look.
Plus, that frame rate is just great for shooting slow-motion footage.
I also set up a custom white balance on the camera before filming, which helped keep things consistent in color and brightness throughout all my shots.
Why is this camera the best?
If you’re looking for a great camera to shoot videos on your YouTube channel, the M100 is a great option.
It’s not as expensive as other professional cameras and has all the features you’ll need to make high-quality videos.
It works with a 24.2 MP sensor that captures images in RAW format, so you can edit them later if needed.
The camera also has Full HD video recording capability, which means it can record ultra-high definition footage at 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Whether it’s some precious moments of your life you want to share with the world or some technical video for YouTube, this camera has all the necessary features.
Conclusion:
The Canon EOS M100 is the best budget camera for YouTube because it has a flip-out touchscreen that lets you capture videos and photos from different angles.

Sony a5100: (Best Budget Camera for YouTube)
I had been hired to film a motivational speaker for his YouTube channel.
He was lecturing about overcoming fear and being more confident, and he had hundreds of people in attendance.
It was a big deal for him, but he also seemed excellent.
So when I showed up at his house to set up before the event, we discussed what he does on his own time.
And it turns out that outside of giving lectures, he’s also an aspiring comedian who always writes jokes!
I thought that was pretty cool, and then he told me he sometimes performs those jokes at open mic nights in bars near his home.
When the event started, he returned to his motivational form, and I picked up my Sony A5100.
Features:
- Model: Sony A5100
- Effective Megapixel: 24 MP
- Image sensor type: APS-C Sensor
- ISO range: 100 – 25600
- Shutter speeds: 1/4000
- Storage Compatibility: SD, SDHC, SDXC Memory
- Viewfinder: Not Available
- Image stabilizer: Not Available
- Dimension: 163 x 63 x 36mm
- Weight: 283g
ISO/Shutter Speed:
The goal was to capture the essence of the speaker, a very energetic and dynamic person, and his audience members, who were very interested in what he had to say.
I used an ISO range of 100 – 25600 and a 1/4000 shutter speed; I could shoot in direct sunlight and still get great results.
The camera’s small size allowed me to get close to my subject while remaining unobtrusive.
Aperture/Field of View:
The motivational speaker had been practicing his speech for weeks before the shoot, so he knew exactly what he wanted from me as a cinematographer.
He wanted me to use an aperture of f/3.5-f/22. This wide range would allow me to capture all kinds of motion while maintaining a high level of detail throughout the frame, and he wanted me to use natural light when possible instead of relying on artificial lighting sources like those found in fluorescent bulbs.
White Balance/Frame Rate:
I shot at 24 fps and auto white balance to get that cinema look.
I ended up with some great shots of him speaking on a stage while people sat in chairs behind him.
The lighting was perfect, and he had a great expression.
I got some majestic shots of him advising the audience, which made for compelling visuals.
With auto-white balance, I could capture his movement while focusing sharply on his face during close-ups.
Why is this camera the best?
You can get an even cheaper camera and still record good video, but the A5100 has some features that make it especially appealing to YouTubers.
First, it’s small and light; you can carry it around in your pocket or bag without weighing you down.
Second, it has a flip screen to see yourself while recording (we all know how important that is!).
And third, its autofocus is fast enough for moving subjects without sacrificing quality.
The built-in Wi-Fi lets you upload videos from your phone; NFC allows easy pairing with compatible devices; and face detection helps keep things sharp when shooting close-ups.
Conclusion:
The A5100 offers high-quality video recording capabilities at an affordable price while maintaining the quality consumers expect from Sony products.
And this one is the best budget camera for YouTube.

Sony DSC-HX99: (Best Budget Camera for YouTube)
One day, I was on a break from shooting my YouTube channel and thought, “How can I make this break more interesting?”
Well, how about some water balloons?
I decided to shoot a prank video with Sony DSC-HX99 where I would throw water balloons at my sister while working on her laptop.
My sister is very good at video games, so she’s used to having her concentration broken by random things like loud noises and bags of chips falling on the floor.
But what would happen when she had to deal with water balloons thrown at her from across the room?
Features:
- Model: Sony DSC-HX99
- Effective Megapixel: 18.2 MP
- Image sensor type: Back Illuminated Exmor R CMOS Sensor
- ISO range: 80 – 3200
- Shutter speeds: 1/2000
- Storage Compatibility: SD, SDHC, SDXC Memory
- Viewfinder: Electronic Viewfinder
- Image stabilizer: Built-in Image Stabilization
- Dimension: 102 x 58 x 36mm
- Weight: 242g
ISO/Shutter Speed:
I wanted to ensure that I could capture every moment on video.
So I set my camera to shoot with an 80-3200 ISO range and a 1/2000 shutter speed so that no matter how fast things happened, they’d still be caught by my lens.
And then I let her rip!
The first few balloons missed her entirely, but one hit her right on the head!
And when she turned around to see where it had come from?
She saw me standing there with a big grin on my face!
Aperture/Field of View:
I set the camera to F/3.5 – f/6.4, suitable for capturing those moments in great detail.
The camera also has a depth field of view and a fast shutter speed, so I could freeze time when she jumped up in surprise at the balloons bursting open around her head!
The image stabilization helped, too, so everything looked smooth and professional, not like some amateur’s shaky hands were behind it all!
White Balance/Frame Rate:
You’d think that popping water balloons on someone would be easy, but this is not always true, especially when trying to get high-quality footage.
Water balloons can splash everywhere, and it’s tough to get clean shots if you don’t have good lighting and sound recording equipment.
But with the 60 fps shooting speed and vivid color collaboration?
I didn’t have any problems at all!
My baby sister kept laughing and crying as she tried to run away from me while I popped balloon after balloon.
Why is this camera the best?
The DSC-HX99 is the perfect camera for anyone wanting to start a YouTube channel.
It has an 18.2-megapixel sensor and captures video in 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) and 1080p (1920 x 1080) at 30 frames per second.
The camera has an f/3.5 lens with image stabilization, so you can take pictures even in low light without worrying about blurry images or shaky footage.
It’s also easy to use: press the shutter button when you’re ready to take a picture or record a video!
Conclusion:
The Sony DSC-HX99 is the best budget camera for YouTube as it has excellent autofocus, a wide-angle lens, and a tilting touch screen.

Canon PowerShot ELPH 360: (Best Budget Camera for YouTube)
The day started like any other.
I was in my office, ensuring the Canon PowerShot ELPH 360 was ready and checking to see if we had all the clients’ questions lined up for the interview.
It was a big deal for a movie star to be nominated for an Oscar!
The actor was very gracious, and even though he had already done many interviews over the years, he still seemed excited about this one.
As we discussed his upcoming film, I could tell he was passionate about it and cared about what would happen next.
I felt honored to take down my frame in person and get some real insight into his life as an artist and person.
Features:
- Model: Canon PowerShot Elph 360
- Effective Megapixel: 20.2 MP
- Image sensor type: High-Sensitivity CMOS Sensor
- ISO range: 80 – 3200
- Shutter speeds: 1/2000
- Storage Compatibility: SD, SDHC, SDXC Memory
- Viewfinder: Electronic Viewfinder
- Image stabilizer: Optical Image Stabilization
- Dimension: 100 x 58 x 23mm
- Weight: 147g
ISO/Shutter Speed:
The camera has an 80 – 3200 iso range and 1/2000 shutter speed, allowing me to shoot in light and bright sunlight.
The person that I interviewed is a famous actor and director.
The photo shoot occurred in his home, where he lives with his family.
We shot this interview outside on his front lawn, covered in grass and flowers.
It was a warm day with blue skies overhead, so getting great shots with natural lighting was easy.
And my camera did an excellent job.
Aperture/Field of View:

I took a few shots of him sitting alone, zoomed in on his face, and took more pictures of him looking up at the skyboard.
It was clear that he wasn’t in the mood to talk to anyone, or maybe just not me, but I kept shooting as I was assigned because I knew this would be my chance to get an interview with one of my favorite celebrities!
White Balance/Frame Rate:

First, I set the camera to shoot 30 frames per second so that my subject would appear in focus even if he moved around the space.
Then, I manually set the white balance to compensate for the fluorescent lights in the garden.
Finally, I set up my tripod and ensured all my settings were correct before beginning the interview.
