I started with a white wall as my background, but then I moved over to an antique table with some flowers, giving me more texture than a plain wall would have.

When I got the call from one of the largest tech companies in the world, they wanted to do a shoot with me; I was over the moon.

I used an ISO range of 100 – 40000 for this shoot and a 1/4000 shutter speed.
The model for this project was an engineering student from one of the top universities in California.

I wanted to capture her natural beauty and show her as she would be in her professional life: a brilliant engineer who could design anything from scratch.

When a high-profile client first approached me, I was immediately excited.
I love shooting promotional shots for websites, and this one felt like an excellent fit for me.
I had never worked with them before, but it was clear that they knew what they were doing.

It was a cold, windy day in New York City when I arrived at the hotel.

It was a beautiful day for a two-year-old’s birthday.
The sun was shining bright, and it felt like we could have been anywhere in the world.
But I was in LA and had just met with this beautiful little girl’s parents to discuss the details of her birthday shoot.
They wanted to capture her personality and energy while also capturing some stills of her with her family at home.

I had the opportunity to shoot an informational campaign regarding cancer for a reputed hospital.
The client wanted to create awareness about cancer and encourage people to self-examine.
The brief was simple: take shots of models in different poses, in different outfits, using props that represented mammograms, a syringe, and a bottle of medicine.
The challenge was shooting the images with as little equipment as possible.

I was tasked with shooting a commercial for the new line of baby pamper products.
I had never shot such an advertisement before, so I was excited but nervous.
I started with a meeting to discuss the script and what we wanted to accomplish with this shoot.
They wanted to showcase how soft and delicate their products were, so I shot a scene of a baby being bathed in one of the new products.
I also decided to use a real baby, not an actor, because they wanted authenticity.

Canon Elph 180: (The perfect point-and-shoot family camera, combining style and value)
I was excited to get the chance to shoot at an Irish restaurant for their promotion.
I had never been inside before, and it was a beautiful place.
The owner greeted me and showed me around the restaurant.
It looked like an old-fashioned Irish restaurant from the outside, but once you walked in, it felt like you were in Ireland!
There were murals on the walls and mosaics on the floor.
The owner told me that he had bought some furniture from Ireland and had built much of it himself.
He said he wanted to show people how beautiful Ireland could be if they visited there someday.
I opted for Canon Elph 180 for this project.

ISO/Shutter Speed:
I knew that the lighting in the dining room would be hard to work with.
The restaurant was dimly-lit and had low ceilings, so I knew that I’d need to find a way to get some light into the shots without relying on flash (which would have been distracting).
The Elph 180 gave me precisely what I needed: an ISO range of 100 – 1600 and 1-1/2000 shutter speed.
This allowed me to shoot at a lower ISO while still getting ample light in the shot.
Aperture/Field of View:
I decided on an overview shot of the restaurant, showing its unique features and some staff preparing food and cleaning up after guests.
I used an aperture range of f/3.2 – f/6.9 to capture everything from bright sunlit scenes to darker areas to get these shots.
This wide aperture range also helped me get creative with depth-of-field effects, such as blurring out certain parts of each scene while keeping other areas in focus so they popped out more prominently.
White Balance/Frame Rate:
Its 720p HD video at 25 fps and manual white balance offer perfect settings to shoot in various environments, from outdoors to indoors, without extra lighting equipment.
It also gave me more control over how my footage looked, which is especially important when filming a restaurant serving food meant to be tasted and seen!
I got some fantastic shots, but one of my favorite scenes is when I shot at night on their patio.

You can also use optical zoom to frame your shots more precisely if you don’t want to crop them later in post-processing.
