I am a Professional and Certified Digital Photographer born in the USA. I have been in this field of photography for 22 years, and in these years, I have used many photography lenses and Cameras, which I want to share here on this website about my experience. The idea for Bestoflens.com is to provide honest information about different Lenses and Camera products in the format of a “Best lenses for AYZ” list. I want this website to be the last destination for people to pick the best Cameras and lenses to fit their needs. You can find our unbiased reviews here on Bestoflens.
Lots of good choices here, but at the end of the day some people will love a 28mm, others will love an 85mm and some like a zoom.
Personally, I like the extremes of 28mm and 85mm, so a zoom is actually a good way to have both. The only downside is the smaller aperture you normally get in a zoom compared to a prime (I can’t afford large aperture zooms!)
There’s certainly an argument to be made in favour of the smaller focal lengths, which are generally shorter so more stealthy and lighter to handle.
On the Z6 I can get away with a 24-70mm F4 zoom even at night, since it has a pretty good high ISO performance. I’d like to try the F2.8, but it’s bigger, heavier and much more expensive.
